PSEG no longer installing ‘monster’ poles

PSEG Long Island has reversed its decision on a controversial utility pole plan. The company was considering installing 19 nearly 80-foot poles for a new power line to replace a broken one underground.

PSEG Long Island has reversed its decision on a controversial utility pole plan.
The company was considering installing 19 nearly 80-foot poles for a new power line to replace a broken one underground.
The decision comes after Garden City residents and elected officials say they weren't in favor of the idea.
PSEG says that it plans to replace the underground cable.
