Protesters are rallying in New Jersey and around the nation today over what they call police brutality directed at minority communities.
The rallies come after grand juries in Staten Island and Ferguson, Missouri, declined to indict white police officers in the deaths of unarmed black men.
Busloads of protesters headed to Washington, D.C. Saturday morning.
Similar rallies are being held in New York City and Newark. The Newark rally is spearheaded by the group People's Organization for Progress. It began at noon at Broad and Market streets.
The Newark marchers demanded federal charges against police officers responsible for the deaths of Eric Garner in Staten Island and Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, earlier this year. They say they also want a review of the grand jury system that cleared both officers.
The New York City rally began at 2 p.m. at Washington Square Park in Manhattan.
Marchers say they will continue to protest until their outrage is met with action.
