A young Suffolk mother has been indicted on manslaughter charges for allegedly starving her baby to death.

Prosecutors say 21-year-old Louisa Givens left her 10-month-old son and 2-year-old daughter unattended in a Lake Ronkonkoma apartment for at least 17 hours back in May.

When Givens returned home, her son Kayden wasn't breathing. Officials say he weighed just 13 pounds when he died, and an autopsy determined the cause of death to be malnutrition and dehydration.

Officials say Givens' daughter, Ava, was also dehydrated and malnourished. She's now in foster care.

Givens is being held on $250,000 bail.
