Prosecutors: 2 Long Island men spied, harassed American who spoke against China
Two Long Islanders have been indicted in a scheme that prosecutors say involved spying for China.
Frank Liu, of Jericho, and Matthew Ziburis, of Oyster Bay, are accused of stalking, spying and harassing United States residents who critiqued the People’s Republic of China.
The men allegedly bribed an IRS official to get the tax returns of a California man who was speaking against the Chinese government.
Three other men are facing similar charges.
