A proposed tax credit for households earning less than $250,000 didn't make it into the state budget.
Back in January, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a property tax break proposal for Long Island residents.
Those who make less than $250,000 a year would have gotten up to a $1,200 credit.
That proposal was left out of the state budget plan announced Sunday.
The governor's office tells News 12 that there is a small chance the proposal could be brought back and voted on by the Legislature in June.
State lawmakers from Long Island say they were able to get better property tax breaks in this year's budget than the governor's original proposal. They also say their tax relief plans take effect this year, as opposed to the governor's proposal that would have taken another year.
