Ahead of Thursday's 9/11 ceremony, Pres. Barack Obama headed up the Hudson Valley today to visit the Tappan Zee Bridge.
The president says Congress needs to approve more money to repair the nation's crumbling infrastructure, and used the Tappan Zee Bridge as a example.
"At times you can see the river through the cracks in the pavement," he said, "I'm not an engineer, but I know that's not good."
The Tappan Zee Bridge is slated to be replaced, in part due to a $1.6 billion loan from the federal government.
The president says projects like the Tappan Zee Bridge will stall unless Congress approves a new $302 billion transportation bill.
