An interfaith service was held in Centerport Tuesday night to offer prayers to the victims of the Orlando, Florida nightclub attack.
Long Islanders filled the pews of Congregational Church of Huntington to honor the victims and to show their solidarity with Orlando.
During the interfaith service, leaders of different religions offered prayers of healing for the survivors of the nightclub shooting.
Attendees hope to send a message of love and tolerance to all those affected by the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. History.
"This is the opposite of what happened there," said Cindy Halpern, of Huntington. "What happened there was full of hatred. What's happening here is full of love and respect, and so we're counteracting the hate with the love represented here in this church."
