In just over two weeks, voters will choose who will lead the largest township in the nation – the Town of Hempstead. The two candidates have been going at it on the campaign trail and in the courtroom.

Democratic candidate Joe Scianablo is coming off a significant ruling in his favor. A state Supreme Court justice ruled the town violated the state's Open Meetings Law when it appointed Nassau legislator and Republican candidate John Ferretti as the new supervisor.

The GOP dominated town board made the appointment in the same meeting that Supervisor Don Clavin resigned without notice.

Joe Scianablo joined Rich Barrabi to talk about his campaign and issues important to Hempstead voters.

Also, Elaine Phillips, the Republican incumbent Nassau Country comptroller, joined the show to discuss a recent audit of the county’s 58 LIRR stations. Auditors suggested the current state of maintenance is “extremely inadequate.”

All that and more in this week’s edition of Power & Politics.
