It’s the time of year when you’ll start seeing potholes on the roadways.

Rich Sayres, of Holbrook MTA Auto Service, described them as “terrible” and said they’ve been a “habitual thing” on Long Island for many years.

Robert Sinclair Jr. is with AAA Northeast.

“When you start off with a lot of bad pavement, you get potholes,” he says.

Sinclair said the most important thing you can do is prepare your vehicle ahead of time, and make sure the tires have “more than adequate” pressure.

He said in order to be covered for potholes, you need to have comprehensive collision insurance on your vehicle.
