Pothole repairs are usually an early sign of spring, but repairs are still happening on one stretch of a Long Island roadway.
More than 8 miles of Hempstead Turnpike will be repaved from the Meadowbrook Parkway to Route 110.
Overnight construction has already started on repairs.
Crews are hoping to have the westbound lanes complete by the start of the winter. Once that is done, work will begin on the eastbound lanes.
