Potholes go hand in hand with winter storms, and they continue to plague drivers across Long Island as accumulation totals rise this season.
The tire-eating craters were a problem even before the storms that hit Thursday and Saturday, causing many residents to complain about road conditions and mechanic visits.
Department of Transportation crews are working to fill the gaps, but are having difficulty with the sheer number of them.
They are asking drivers to report any potholes they spot on state roads by calling 1-800-POTHOLE.
