Police officials are investigating a possible drowning in a Malverne home.
Authorities say the victim is a health care worker in her late 30s who worked at the house caring for the homeowner's sister.
"[Police] checked the front of the house, saw nothing remiss," says Chief John Aresta, of the Malverne Village police. "They went to the back of the house, and that's when they saw a person at the bottom of the pool."
Police say the health care worker was from Queens. They say she was rushed to the hospital, but do not believe she survived.
Police say they don't know how long the aid may have been under water, but think it may have been for as long as 30 minutes. That is when the homeowner's father, who was also home at the time, saw something was wrong and called 911.
