Motivated "momtrepreneurs" on Long Island have found a way to stay home and start new businesses.
Amanda Khalil and Cynthia Litman began a marketing firm to empower women who want to continue their careers during motherhood.
The two are holding their second annual Momtrepreneur Fair May 4 in Port Washington. Momtrepeneurs at the fair include Jennifer Deluca, of Port Washington.
DeLuca is an FIT graduate who worked in the New York fashion industry. She now runs her own clothing company Glam Mom New York from home.
"It's great to have the flexibility to be there for my kids ... take them to the bus, pick them up, make their meals ... and in the interim, working on my passion, which is designing and creating clothes," she says.
