Port Jefferson will serve as the hub of a new summer travel service that connects Long Island, Connecticut and New York City.
Passengers can board a high-speed ferry from East 35th Street in Manhattan and it will take them to Port Jefferson. From there, passengers who want to go to the Hamptons can board Jitney buses.
The Sea Jitney service stems from a partnership with Seastreak.
"No bumper to bumper-to-bumper... It's a calm flat ride," said Jim Barker, of Seastreak.
One-way fares range from $33 to $50 depending on origin and destination; reservations and advance payment are required.
