As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the area, a new Mount Sinai South Nassau Truth in Medicine Poll is showing that more and more people are putting faith in the vaccine.
Out of 600 people who were surveyed, 75% of the vaccinated said they would go back for a booster.
On the other hand, 54% of those polled who were unvaccinated say their mind still hasn't changed, citing the safety of the vaccine and the government as reasons they wouldn't get the shot.

News 12 spoke with Mount Sinai South Nassau vice president Joe Calderone who says it's the unvaccinated who are suffering the most as cases continue to go up.

“What we're seeing in the hospital more and more are unvaccinated people, including young people, who are not vaccinated and are now suffering the very debilitating effects of the virus,” says Calderone.

The poll also stated 23 percent of those who were unvaccinated have changed their mind on the shot, stating the FDA approval as their reason for the change of heart.
The White House has stated that President Joe Biden plans to release a six-pronged attack Thursday aimed at conquering the delta variant and increasing COVID-19 vaccinations across the nation.
The president has already released a plan to make booster shots more available pending regulatory approval.
