Police: Girl rescued from bottom of town pool in Centereach

Frightening moments in Centereach after a little girl was rescued from the bottom of a town pool.
Police tell News 12 a swimmer found the girl unresponsive in the water at the Centereach pool around 5 p.m. Friday and pulled her out.
Newsday says the 6-year-old was lying face down at the four foot end of the pool.
Lifeguards performed CPR until the girl started breathing on her own.
She is hospitalized in stable condition.
Brookhaven Town tells Newsday they are looking into what happened.
