Police: Wrong-way drunken driver caused LIE crash

A Hempstead woman is accused of driving drunk and going the wrong way on the LIE before causing a crash. Police say Ambar Chavez slammed into the front end of another car near exit 38 around 3:30 a.m.

A Hempstead woman is accused of driving drunk and going the wrong way on the LIE before causing a crash.
Police say Ambar Chavez slammed into the front end of another car near exit 38 around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. 
Police say no one was hurt during the incident. 
News 12 has learned police found marijuana on Chavez during the arrest. 
Chavez is charged with DWI and drug possession.
