Police say a 78-year-old woman has been seriously injured after getting hit by a car in Bay Shore.
According to police, a man was driving south on 5th Avenue when he tried to make a left onto Spur Drive North and hit Marie Lanfrit while she was crossing the street.
The incident happened Tuesday around 6 p.m.
Lanfrit suffered serious injuries.
The driver was not hurt and stayed at the scene.
