Police say a woman was found dead in a backyard pool in Fort Salonga.

Police say 76-year-old Carol-Jean Werkstell was found unresponsive in the water.

The incident happened at a home on Truxton Lane just after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

A resident called 911, and Werkstell was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
