Police say a West Babylon woman was killed Saturday and her husband was hospitalized with what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds.

Officials say they received a 911 call around 2:30 p.m. and found the female victim at a home on Sheffield Avenue. She has been identified as 32-year-old Sonja Williams. Police say they believe she was stabbed to death.

Officers also found Williams' husband inside the home with significant injuries. He has been identified as Kerwyn Jaggernauth, 31. Officials say he was hospitalized in critical condition.

The couple's two children, ages 5 and 12, were not home at the time of the incident. Police say they are accounted for and safe.

No charges have been filed at this time, but police say it appears to be a domestic homicide.
