Two unauthorized adults hopped on a school bus Wednesday that was on its way to Sachem North High School.
The unidentified man and woman exited a few stops later and the school says neither interacted with anyone else on the bus.
The superintendent sent out a letter saying, "In the limited lighting and with the wearing of winter clothing--it was not really evident at the boarding that they were not authorized to ride."
Danielle Missry, a sophomore at the school, says the incident is a "little frightening".
"I would like to know that I'm safe on my way home from school," Missry says.
Police are still investigating surveillance video that was taken on the bus to see if there was any criminality.
It is unclear if any disciplinary action the bus driver is facing.
News 12 left messages with the bus company, Towne, but has not heard back as of Thursday at 5 p.m.
