A young man accused of selling heroin while holding his baby in his arms is set to spend Father's Day behind bars.
Tyreek Langs, 23, was arraigned today on drug charges and endangering the welfare of a child.
Langs was arrested yesterday afternoon at the corner of Peters Boulevard and Kelly Avenue in Central Islip.
Undercover officers had been in the area following neighborhood complaints of drug activity. Detectives say they were watching a believed drug buyer on the corner, who told them he "ordered up" after officers confronted him. "Ordered up" is slang for waiting to receive a drug delivery.
Police say the undercover officers then saw Langs approaching the buyer. Langs was allegedly holding his 8-month-old daughter and carrying five bags of heroin.
Lang's bail was set at $30,000 cash or $60,000 bond. His daughter is now in the custody of her mother.
