Police: Two men behind multiple Carle Place school burglaries

Police say they responded to an alarm at Rushmore Elementary School in Carle Place around 3 a.m. Monday.

Two men are behind bars on accusations of being behind a string of school burglaries in Nassau County.
Police say they responded to an alarm at Rushmore Elementary School in Carle Place around 3 a.m. Monday.
That's when officers say they found Gem Hattat, from Lindenhurst, and Jarrett Boyarsky, from Westbury, on the roof.
Police say the pair is also responsible for other burglaries this month, including two allegedly at Carle Place High School, where musical instruments were stolen. Another burglary was allegedly at Island Power Sports.
Both suspects are expected to go before a judge Tuesday.
