A Syosset mother was arraigned Thursday after being accused of driving drunk and high with her two young daughters in the car.
Police say a witness saw Laura Cachell, 32, driving erratically near the Century 21 store in Westbury. By the time police arrived, they say she was parked in a lot off Old Country Road.
Prosecutors say Cachell had a blood alcohol content of .08. She also allegedly had several oxycodone pills and muscle relaxants in a pill bottle in the car.
According to court documents, the officer who responded asked Cachell if she had been drinking and she responded that she had been using Listerine. She then allegedly went on to admit she had an alcoholic drink.
Cachell was just in court a few days ago on a separate drug charge and promised to seek treatment, according to documents. In that case, she was charged with possession of marijuana and Ecstasy.
Cachell was held on $32,000 bail and ordered to stay away from her children. They are now in the care of their grandfather.
