A Suffolk math teacher is accused of having an inappropriate relationships with two female students.
Central Islip High School teacher Jairo Inswasty, 70, was arrested at his home on Thursday.
Inswasty allegedly paid two 16-year old students for nude or revealing photos of themselves, from January until May of this year.
In the first case, police say he paid a student $5 for her bikini photo. Police say another 16-year old student was paid to clean his Islandia home. Once there, police say he asked her to pose for inappropriate photos and then allegedly paid the girl $150 to show more.
"He later asked her to pose for nude photos. She agreed and he paid her in cash. Mr. Inswasty eventually offered this girl an iPhone X to have sex with him. She declined," said Suffolk Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart.
Inswasty is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Inswasty was released on a desk appearance ticket after his arrest. No one answered the door at his Islandia home this afternoon. Police conducted a search warrant at the home and seized his camera, computers and iPhone.
Inswasty was suspended within an hour of the accusations, according to the assistant superintendent.
Police say they believe there could be more victims out there. Anyone with information is asked to call the Special Victims Section at 631-852-6531.
