Police: Stanley Miles, Darren Gregory killed in Meadowbrook Parkway crash

Police say two people have died following a crash this morning on the Meadowbrook Parkway in Uniondale.
According to police, a 2011 Camaro was headed south on the parkway, north of the Southern State Parkway, when the driver lost control and struck the center median.
The car drove across all lanes of southbound traffic before striking a tree on the right shoulder, police say.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified by police as Stanley Miles, 22, of Roosevelt. The passenger of the vehicle has been identified as Darren Gregory, 31, of Roosevelt. Both were pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Miles' mother said her son and his friends had been out bowling in Garden City. His parents told News 12 that he just bought the Camaro last month, a dream car that he saved up for by working for his father's business.
Police say during the closure of the Meadowbrook Parkway, a state police patrol car was struck by a passing motorist causing minor damage to both vehicles.
The fatal crash is now under investigation, and the parkway has since reopened.

Police say it appears that speeding was a factor in the crash.
