A soccer mom attacked her daughter's coach with a chair over the weekend in Elmont, Nassau police said Tuesday.
Alicia Vigil, 33, who lives on Main Street in East Rockaway, allegedly hit the 68-year-old volunteer coach with a folding chair. The two exchanged words after a game at Sewaneka High School on Sunday afternoon, police said.
"She took it out from under her arm and she hit him in the face, struck his mouth," said Nassau Police Det. Lt. Kevin Smith. "His lips started to bleed and caused an abrasion to several areas."
Police said Vigil was angry because the coach apparently did not e-mail her directions to the field. The incident occurred in front of the local league team.
Vigil, who also is accused of keying a van she believed to be the coach's, is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. The coach declined medical attention.
