Police say a serial robber nicknamed the "Gym Bandit" has struck another Nassau County gym.
Nassau police arrested 44-year-old Sean Sevetar for allegedly breaking into a member's locker recently at a Retro Fitness in Hewlett, taking car keys, and then stealing $60 and some designer sunglasses from the glove box.
Authorities dubbed Sevetar the "Gym Bandit" after numerous people at gyms, tanning salons and coffee shops had their valuables stolen. Police say Sevetar, who then went by the name Sean Gluck, was caught and served time. After being released, they say he went back to stealing from gyms.
In 2009, he was caught again and pleaded guilty. This time, gym patrons in Hewlett say they're glad an alleged third crime spree was stopped quickly.
Prosecutors say the latest burglary was caught on no less than four surveillance cameras, which helped lead to the arrest. And gym members tell News 12 that they are thankful for those cameras.
Sevetar was held in lieu of $30,000 bail. He is due back in court on Dec. 7.
