Police are searching for a man who was caught on camera stealing a package off a Baldwin doorstep.
The couple that lives in the home says they placed an online order last weekend, but the package never arrived. Brian Brenner says the package contained a $300 tuxedo jacket purchased by his husband, Timothy Sullivan, as a gift for an upcoming cruise.
Sullivan says he went online Friday to find that the jacket had been delivered on Thursday, but it was nowhere to be found. The couple says they checked their home security video and saw that just after 3 p.m. on Thursday, a man got out of a dark-colored sedan and grabbed the package before taking off.
Sullivan says he contacted both Nassau police and UPS. While the vendor has given him a full refund, he says he will think twice before ordering anything online in the future.
The pair gave the surveillance video to police, who told News 12 that they are investigating the incident.
Security experts say you can avoid similar thefts by requesting a signature when a package is delivered.
