After another beautifully sunny, but cooler and more seasonable day today with highs around 60, this evening remains quite nice. There will be a few patchy clouds, otherwise mostly clear with temperatures dropping into the 40s this evening and a very light northeast breeze. Low temperatures overnight will end up in the upper 30s to lower 40s, so have a coat with you if you will be out tonight or early Wednesday morning.

Halloween is still looking nice. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with temperatures in the 60s in the afternoon, cooling only into the upper 50s during the early evening.

As you probably know already, Daylight Saving Time ends early Sunday at 2 a.m. Clocks back one hour and we gain that extra hour this weekend. The trade-off is that we'll lose an hour of daylight in the late afternoon, with sunset on Sunday around 4:49 p.m. The time change is also a great reminder to check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Test the alarms, replace batteries if needed, check expiration dates and make sure all detectors are working properly. It's also a good time to review your family's fire escape plan and check your emergency supplies as we get closer to the winter season.
