Police say a Searingtown woman is set to face a judge after they found her running in the middle of the road after leaving the scene of a crash.
Detectives say 22-year-old Xiana Brave was running in the middle of traffic near Glen Cove Road in Carle Place.
Police say officers tried to help her, but she became combative, and a struggle ensued.
One officer tried to place her in custody and was injured.
News 12 has been told Brave continued to resist arrest.
Once she calmed down, police say they learned she had a domestic incident with her aunt.
Police say Brave stole her aunt's car, got into an accident, and then fled the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Brave is facing multiple charges.
