Police are searching for two men accused of scamming an Elmont man out of nearly $300,000.

Detectives say the suspects posed as masonry workers when they offered the victim help with repairs on his home.

The victim accepted their offer. Over the next two months, the suspects told the man that the house needed more repairs and that they needed deposits for future work.

The victim paid the two men around $295,500 while no work was done to his house.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS
