Police responded to the home of a Garden City Park woman accused of stealing a Sikh religious book.
Police were called to the home on Schumacher Drive at around 12:30 p.m. Friday. Officers closed the area for several blocks in each direction.
Police have not said why they responded to the home.
As News 12 has reported, 37-year-old Prabhleen Kaur was arrested and charged with grand larceny on Wednesday.
There was a protest outside her home earlier this week, with hundreds demanding the return of the religious text.
Police say the sacred book was recovered.
