Police say a Queens man was arrested in connection to the beating of a gas station attendant in Freeport over social distancing in April.
They say Hiram Vega was paying for gas at a Merrick Road station when an employee asked him to step back because of virus concerns.
Vega then allegedly grabbed a metal bar from his car and hit the employee in the head, ribs and legs. The victim was treated for a fractured skull.
Police arrested Vega on Friday. He's set to be arraigned Saturday.
