A Queens man is accused of assaulting a police officer while being placed under arrest at a Marshalls in Elmont.
Authorities say officers chased 45-year-old Mark Ware after he ran out of the Hempstead Turnpike store with unpaid merchandise in his hands.
As police attempted to apprehend him, authorities say Ware refused to comply and assaulted an officer during the course of the arrest.
Ware is also accused of seven previous larcenies at the same store.
This comes after four people were hospitalized following a violent incident involving pepper spray Wednesday at a Commack Marshalls.
