Police are investigating possible links between a pair of armed robberies that took place moments apart in two different driveways in Nassau County.
Police say an attempted holdup was thwarted at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on Nightingale Road in West Hempstead. They say three suspects took off when another family member pulled into the driveway.
About 15 minutes later, someone else was robbed on Maple Avenue in neighboring South Hempstead. The suspects were able to get away with a man's wallet and cellphone.
Police say the suspects in both incidents were three men dressed in dark-hooded sweatshirts. They say at least one of the suspects had a gun.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incidents to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
