Five people were involved in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday evening, and police say the chain of events all started with an accidental shooting.
The incident happened at the intersection of Manetto Hill and Old Country roads.
Police say an accidental shooting at a nearby home led to the violent crash.
They say a 25-year-old man was cleaning his firearm when the weapon accidentally discharged, hitting the neck area of a 17-year-old who was in the home.
Police say the 25-year-old man was rushing the teen to the hospital in a Jeep when he caused the 4-vehicle collision.
One of the cars involved was carrying an off-duty female officer, who police say jumped into action.
All five people involved in the crash suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including the teen who was wounded in the accidental shooting.
