Two men dressed as utility workers barged into a Hewlett home Wednesday morning, tied up the occupants and made off with cash and jewelry, according to police.
Police say the men knocked on the door of the Henrietta Place home around 10 a.m., identified themselves as utility workers and then pushed their way in past the housekeeper.
Police say the men were able to tie up the homeowner and housekeeper after a struggle. Family members say the couple owns a jewelry store. Police believe the home was targeted.
The men drove away in a blue work van, police say. They?re asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
