A woman crossing a street in Central Islip Saturday night was fatally struck by a car.
Police say the vehicle hit Stacy Worlds at around 9 p.m. as she was walking across Carlton Avenue between Earle and Elmore streets.
She was pronounced dead at a hospital. The 59-year-old driver from Bay Shore was not hurt, according to authorities.
