Police say a pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in Bay Shore Friday night.

Officers say before 8 p.m., 54-year-old Rayomond Ojara was driving down Howells Road.

They say that’s when his car hit a 33-year-old pedestrian walking on the Manatuck Boulevard intersection.

The victim was then rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Ojara was not injured in the crash.

Police say the incident is under investigation.
