A house in St. James was struck by lightning amid strong storms that moved though Long Island Monday, officials say.
The incident happened at a home located on Inwood Road around 10:57 p.m.
According to fire officials, lightning struck the back patio of the home.
No injuries were reported.
The extent to the damage of the patio is not known.
According to the National Weather Service, when lightning is in the area stay away from any elevated areas and water.
