Suffolk police say an officer was killed Sunday morning in Commack after colliding with a drunken driver.
The accident happened at about 4:15 a.m. Sunday at Motor Parkway and Commack Road. Officer Glen Ciano's car was hit by a 2007 Dodge Magnum while he was responding to a call to assist another officer.
?We are very saddened, we are certainly devastated by this event,? says Suffolk County Chief of Detectives Dominick Varrone. ?An officer, one of Suffolk's finest, lost his life, killed in the line of duty.?The driver of the Dodge, 23-year-old Jose Borbon, of Plainview, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
