A Lakeview man is under arrest in an incident that injured a police officer in the process, authorities say.
Detectives say a domestic disturbance broke out at a home on Ronkonkoma Avenue just before 9 p.m. Friday.
Officers say Jair Dixon, 24, barricaded himself inside his home, refusing to allow officers inside to investigate.
When police were able to get inside, they allegedly discovered Dixon had punched a hole in the basement door and damaged an air conditioning unit.
Police tried to arrest Dixon, but he allegedly resisted arrest, causing injuries to an officer’s wrist.
The officer is expected to be OK.
