State police say an off-duty NYPD officer was driving the wrong way in a deadly crash in Rockland County.
Officials say 32-year-old Richard Christopher, who served in the Bronx, was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-87 early Tuesday morning when he slammed into another car. Both drivers were killed.
State police say they do not know where Christopher was headed at the time of the crash, or if drugs or alcohol played a role.
