Police say an elderly woman was scammed out of thousands of dollars.
According to detectives, the 74-year-old got a call from a man saying her son had been arrested.
The man told the victim she had to pay $26,000 for his release.
Two men then came to her Oceanside home to pick up the money.
The woman realized later it was a scam and contacted police.
