Police say a major dealer of heroin on Nassau's North Shore is now off the streets.
Glen Cove police say 22-year-old Damaris Lee Santana, of Brooklyn, had been dealing heroin in Glen Cove since at least February.
Lt. John Nagle says a tip led them to Santana. She was arrested in Brooklyn earlier this week, and police say she had a 12-year-old sibling in the car with her, along with 600 bags of heroin and nearly $4,000 in cash. Police say 35-year-old Jessica Cales was also in the car and knew Santana was dealing.
Glen Cove police worked with both Nassau and Suffolk police, as well as the ATF, to make the arrest.
Santana was arraigned and held on $150,000 bail.
