Newburgh man charged after alleged assault of 2-year-old girl

A North Bellmore man was arrested for assaulting an officer outside of a restaurant in Franklin Square on Saturday afternoon.

Police say they received a call from Ginger Flower on Franklin Avenue about a customer disturbance.

Upon arrival, police say 57-year-old Saidmurodov Niyazov violently resisted arrest and punched an officer in the process.

Authorities say Niyazov will face a judge when he is medically able.
