Police say a Roosevelt man is facing murder charges after another man fell onto the powerful third rail and died at an LIRR station early this morning.

Police initially reported that a Freeport man suffered from an apparent seizure and fell from the platform onto the tracks at the Bellmore LIRR station. Now, police say that an investigation has shown that a verbal dispute turned into a physical altercation at the station, leading to the man's death.

Niheim Levy, 34, of Bennett Avenue in Roosevelt, has been identified as the suspect. Police say Levy is accused of assaulting the 49-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released pending the notification of his family.

Levy is being charged with murder and first-degree robbery for his alleged role in the attack, police say.
