Police: New Hyde Park man arrested for attempting to strangle woman

Detectives say the suspect, 75-year-old Glen Davis, pushed the 73-year-old victim down the stairs and struck her multiple times with a candle holder.

A New Hyde Park man was arrested for attempting to strangle a woman, police say.
Nassau County police say they responded to a domestic disturbance call around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Detectives say the suspect, 75-year-old Glen Davis, pushed the 73-year-old victim down the stairs. He then allegedly struck her multiple times with a candle holder and tried to strangle her.
The woman was able to fight him off and call police.
Davis is being charged with second-degree attempted murder.
