Police said there were multiple cars involved in a crash that happened on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Sunday evening.

Police say the accident happened around 7:20 p.m. east of Unqua Road right outside the Sunrise Mall.

Dozens of firefighters and police officers responded, some of whom climbed on top of cars that were flipped over.

It was not immediately clear what led to the multi-vehicle crash.
